Vasilis Stefanopoulos (doublebass, bass guitar) was born in Patras (Greece). He studied bass guitar with Andreas Georgiou and classical double bass with Heracles Soumelidis in Municipal Conservatorium of Patras. He graduated from The Royal Conservatorium of The Hague for Jazz and Classical double bass, (Bachelor of Jazz Double Bass, Bachelor of Classical Double Bass, Master of Jazz Double Bass) studying with: Hein van de Geyn, Frans van der Hoeven, Knut Guettler, Jean-Paul Everts, Quirijn van Regteren Altena, Tony Overwater.
He appeared as a soloist with Hellas Orchestra of Patras with conductor Saulius Sondeckis. He won the first prize, with the group Poly Quartet, in the international competition for Jazz groups Play Festival in Hasselt (Belgium). He appeared with world famous guitarist George Benson in North Sea Jazz Festival 2009 (The Netherlands). He participated with the contemporary ensemble Modelo62 in the international festival for contemporary music Darmstadt International Festival for New Music 2010 (Germany). He participated in various Jazz clubs and festivals in Greece, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, England. Played with (among others): George Benson, Michel Portal, Csaba Deseo, Jon Luz, Eef Albers.
