Nick performs as a violist, guitarist and double bassist and has also developed a career as a composer.
Nick graduated from The City of Leeds College of Music in 1985, with a distinction for performance on Classical Guitar, and winner of the Michael Grady Memorial Prize for composition before taking up teaching posts overseas (Spain, Kenya, Thailand).
Nick has performed with the Sony Bangkok orchestra, Ibycus Chamber Orchestra, Royal Artillery orchestra, South Bank Centre Orchestra, Nairobi Symphony Orchestra, CLCM Orchestra, University of Wales and University of Kent Orchestras, Spanish 'Zuzuela' orchestras and numerous other smaller ensembles and chamber groups around the world. He has also appeared both on radio and television
1991-1994 he worked as a musician in the British Army primaraly as a Violist, while completing his Master's degree but he also performed on guitar and Double Bass. On leaving the Army and completing a PGCE in Music (UK teacher certification) he returned to overseas education (Kuwait, S.Korea) before returning to Thailand where he is currently Principal at an International School. His LTCL Diploma is in Guitar.
Nick also holds an APE (Approved Professional Experience) certificate as a Viola player in preparation for his LRSM performance diploma.
AWARDS AND PUBLICATIONS
As a composer, Nick's works have been performed in Italy, USA, UK and Thailand and South East Asia while others are under consideration by world class performers.
Nick is winner of the William Lincer Composition Competition 2004, and the Michael Grady Memorial Prize for Composition awarded by the City of Leeds College of Music. He was also selected for the Guildhall School of Music Composers Forum,,the 60 x 60 Pacific Rim composers concert given in Los Angeles in 2004. and was also selected as composer of the month for the Notion newsletter in May 2008. Nick is exclusvely published by Lighthouse music publications. Nick concluded his PhD in Composition this year.
