Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute and Theory Instruction
Shaun Acker, a licentiate level saxophonist, has performed with various jazz bands and orchestras across Southern Africa and abroad, and holds both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Arts degree from Rhodes University. Previous students have obtained multiple distinctions under his instruction in international board examinations; such as the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Lessons – which are aimed at developing technique for beginner wind players or extending the technique of more advanced players – are stylistically centered around either classical, jazz or avant-garde performance on either saxophone, clarinet or flute. Elementary theory lessons can be included for players who are predominantly aurally based. Shaun is also available to compose for film and contemporary dance.
